As of about an hour ago, Corey and I are the proud owners of a frozen yogurt establishment called Froyo. We’ve been in the process of buying Froyo for about a month and a half now and we’re glad it’s finally ours.
Froyo is located at 2255 N. University Parkway in Provo and is open Monday through Thursday from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm and Friday and Saturday from 12:00 pm to 11:oo pm. The menu currently includes frozen yogurt (with add-ins), Dreyer’s® ice cream, and hot chocolate. In the near future, we plan to move Froyo to a better location and add sorbet (dairy free) and blenders (similar to fruit smoothies) to our menu.
Corey has been working on a change in corporate identity for Froyo because it needs to be updated. For example, here’s the old logo and the new logo.

And, one of the things we’ve been contemplating along with the identity change is a name change. Corey and I have been trying to decide if changing the name would positively or negatively affect sales to our target market. So, I’ve decided to create a poll and see what the results are from my blog followers.
Anyway, thanks for participating in the poll. Corey and I are really excited about Froyo and we hope you come by some time to say hi and get a healthy, yummy treat!
PS–If you are for the name change and you have a name idea, please leave it in the comments.
Update: Poll closed.

Congratulations! Froyo is yummy! In my opinion, I would not change the name. Froyo is already known and has a following, and since I have noticed several other frozen yogurt places about town, I would just keep the same name since it is already established. It might be risky to try to launch a new frozen yogurt store when people may already have their favorite places. I just don’t really see the need, but maybe you have your own reasons for wanting to change it. I like the new logo though. I also love your ideas of expanding the menu though. Hot chocolate sounded like a good idea this week, didn’t it? Smoothies are also really popular, and should be a big hit. Good luck! We will have to come and sample your wares when everything gets set up!
Congratulations!!!!!!!!! How exciting for you. Wishing you all the success you can handle.
Congratulations on becoming business owners! Froyo rocks! Wow! This is way, way, way cool! We will definitely give you our business, and our friends’ business, and friends of friends . . . . You get the idea
I love the new logo, btw. I vote for keeping the name because it is a known entity in the area, it describes your product very accurately, and it is really fun to say! GO FROYO!
Congratulations. I was planning on coming by for a sandwich but since it’s not a deli, I’ll switch gears & go wit frozen yogurt. That’s pretty awesome! So will you be quitting your day job to work in the shop or will Corey be doing most of that? How fun. I’m excited for you guys.
I treid to vote for the “I hate it so much I wouldn’t go there” option, but it counted me as a male.
Actually, I’m really somewhere between “I don’t care” and “I’d still go there but I think it’s a silly name.” But hey, frozen yogurt is kind of a silly, whimsical food, so why shouldn’t it have kind of a silly, whimsical name?
Thank you!
Actually, Corey and I like the name Froyo, but the thought had crossed our minds and then I heard some feedback from some of my co-workers that hated the name so much they wouldn’t frequent the store. I know we can’t please everyone. So, I decided to do this poll to get a wider range of opinions.
Thanks, Christie! We’re still trying to get the deli too, but we’re having a little tougher time with it. We’re glad we at least have Froyo, though!
I’ll stay at my current job for a while (maybe until the end of the year) and then I plan on quitting and helping Corey and going back to school too.
Eventually, we plan to get a manager to manage the store, so we can focus on growing the business by franchising it or something.
Congratulations! What exciting news, Jenni!
I hope you and Corey will really enjoy owning and managing your own business! I like the name Froyo and wish I lived closer to Provo so I could stop by for some delicious sorbet! Yummy! Wishing you much success and happiness!
Congratulations on the new business! We will definately have to stop by there the next time we are in town! I think the name FROYO is fun to say! I vote with keeping it the same.
PS. I’m Female
Congrats! If I’d read this earlier, we’d have come by tonight…I guess it may have to wait until Saturday!
We’re so excited for you…Happy Birthday, here’s your new business, huh?
I liked Froyo but of course I’m up here in Seattle and won’t be able to come in. But if I’m ever in Provo you have my business! (especially if you make it dairy free!!!)
Wow, congrats hun! That is fantastic news. Sean and I used to live close and we would frequent all the time. Granted this was back with the original creator. Again, congrats and I cannot wait to see you there!
Congrats to you and Corey. When I was prego with Tyce the fam and I made a bet on if he’d be a boy or girl and the winner got to choose the flavor when we stopped by Froyo. Yummy stuff.
I love the menu change ideas. It always helps to have other options to bring in more people. I think a name change would be a bad idea having to reestablish yourself all over. Good luck with your new adventures.
Wow – this is a huge surprise! Well congrats on this business venture, and I wish the best for you! By the way, did you know that Froyo is where our band (Forever Friday) had our very first gig? I have fond memories of that place for that reason, and now our friends own it! (the yogurt’s not bad either).
CONGRATS!!! I agree that Froyo is already established in the area, so it might be confusing to change it. I love the new logo and the possible menu changes.
I’m so proud of you two and I can’t wait to visit again and be a patron at my aunt and uncle’s business!!!
Congrats again!
I wish I was closer! I am so happy for you and Corey. I hope this is the beginning of great things for you!
