Sophie Grace Callister

March 27, 2009 9:42 am

Happy birthday, Tigger! :D

Sophie Grace CallisterAymee and Dave, my niece and nephew-in-law, welcomed their second daughter into their family on Tuesday, March 24, 2009.  Sophie Grace Callister was born at 3:41 pm.  She weighed 6 lbs. 10 oz. and was 20 in. long.

My niece Carlee told me that Aubree, Sophie’s older sister, adores her and keeps saying, “Love you baby Sophie!”  We’ll see if those feelings last now that little Sophie’s home. ;)

This is the only picture I have of little Sophie.  I’m trying to get Dave to e-mail me some more.  Also, Corey and I were going to go up and see her tomorrow, but I’m sick and unless I’m completely better, then I won’t be going anywhere near them. As soon as I get more pictures, I’ll post them.

Congratulations, Aymee and Dave! :D

Bowling Fun

March 25, 2009 8:55 pm

Yesterday, I went bowling with my friend Debbie.  Somehow (I can’t remember), we both found out that each other liked to bowl.  Last month, she asked me if I wanted to go with her.  I was really excited because not only would it be fun to go with her, I haven’t been bowling for about five or six years.

I sucked (both times)!  I normally do because the bowling balls are too heavy for me to hold and throw properly so I use a lighter one.  But, with the lighter ones, my thumb inevitably gets stuck in the hole. (Yeah, I know; I need to work on my upper-body strength. )  I did get one strike during the second game and was finally able to play all three attempts during the 10th frame! :D Debbie, on the other hand, got several strikes and did really well in both games.  She was also able to get up to almost 17 mph! 8O Whereas, I almost broke 13 mph!  Debbie rocks!

Even though I sucked, I had lots of fun and would love to do it again!

10 Pounds Lighter

March 24, 2009 9:32 am

I have officially lost 10 pounds!  Actually, it’s 10.1 pounds. :D I’ve been working so hard; I’m extremely meticulous about how much and what I eat so I don’t go over my calorie or fat intake each day.  And, it’s encouraging to see my hard work pay off.

Yesterday, I was finally able to get up an hour early to exercise.  I’m so proud of myself for getting up.  It’s been so hard since the time change.  I feel like I’m getting back in the groove, which is nice because I don’t like feeling out of my element.

Anyway, only 90 more pounds to go!  It seems more within reach than it ever did before! :D

Twilight Movie Party

March 23, 2009 8:44 am

Ever since Corey and I started going to a family ward a little over a year ago, I’ve had a hard time going to church regularly.  I was out of my comfort zone, I only knew a couple of families, and I got out of the habit of going.  (I know by not going that I’m creating a paradox because I’d meet people and take care of the excuse of not knowing many people if I went more regularly. :? ) Unfortunately, this has carried over to our new ward. (Please don’t lay a guilt trip on me for not going to church.  I already know I should go and I’m working through my hangups.)

Anyway, my neighbor decided to get me involved a little bit by dropping off an invitation to a Twilight movie party some of the women in the ward were having.  She asked me, “Do you like Twilight?”  I kind of chuckled a little and asked, “Does going to Forks last summer with a bunch of women I met on the Twilight Lexicon count as liking Twilight?”  After a moment of speechlessness, she said, “Forks is a real town!”

We were supposed to bring a Twilight-inspired treat.  I couldn’t think of anything extremely clever, so I ended up just bringing animal crackers. :D The food that everyone else brought was very creative and yummy.  (I’ll have to duplicate some of their ideas for a future party.)  Unfortunately, I didn’t eat that much since it would’ve killed my calorie intake for the day.  The things we do to be/get healthy! ;)

I wore my Forks sweatshirt and my “What happens in Forks stays in Forks” shirt to the party.  A few of the women asked me where I got my sweatshirt and I told them in Forks.  They were excited that I’d been there and asked a little about the real area.  They were pretty excited to find out that La Push and Port Angeles were real towns too.

They asked me questions about my adventures, including meeting Stephenie at the signings.  They even asked me if I was a part of the TwilightMoms group.  I told them that my friends and I are kind of rivals with the TwilightMoms because we’re always trying to one-up each other at Stephenie Meyer/Twilight events.

Overall, I feel like I talked too much and I hope they don’t hold it against me.  It was also a little weird being at a Twilight party without my friends, but I still had fun.  I’m glad my neighbor Emily decided to invite me and that I had a chance to meet as many women as I did.  I had seen some of them at church, but I hadn’t really “met” any of them, except my two neighbors, before the party.

As far as the movie itself, this was only the second time I’ve seen it.  And, after watching it the second time, I’ve decided that I’m not in as much awe as I was when I first saw it.  The initial feeling of seeing the characters and the general story come to life on screen has worn off.

I still enjoyed the movie.  However, there are definitely parts that I detest and wish would’ve been done differently and/or better.  Yet, there are parts that I absolutely love, especially those scenes with Billy Burke in it.  I loved his portrayal of Charlie.

In conclusion, I hope the new director for New Moon can make it better than Twilight.  And, for those of you who have only seen the movie, don’t judge the book by its movie.  As Alice (my friend not the character) would say, “Read the damn books!” ;) I promise they’re a lot better!

Photo Mosaic

March 20, 2009 1:06 pm

On Facebook, a tag’s going around where you create a photo mosaic based on images you find from a Google Image search.  The images are searched by using the answer to the questions below as the keyword, kind of like the image tag I did a while ago.  I thought this was a lot of fun and I liked my mosaic so much (after a few minor changes) I wanted to post it on my blog.

  1. What is your name? Jennifer–I wish there weren’t so many popular actresses with the name Jennifer so I could’ve had a cool picture rather than one of Jennifer Aniston.
  2. What is your favorite food? Sushi
  3. What is your hometown? Provo
  4. What is your favorite color? Lavender
  5. What is your favorite movie? Down With Love–Honestly, I have too many favorite movies to count so I chose Down With Love because I could get an adorable picture of Ewan McGregor as part of my mosaic.
  6. What is your favorite drink? Gatorade
  7. What is your dream vacation? Japan
  8. What is your favorite dessert? Brownies
  9. What is one word to describe yourself? Perfectionist
  10. How are you feeling right now? Bored–I needed a break from the monotony of my current project at work.
  11. What do you love most in the world? Books–I wanted books and music, but the Google Image search only brought up pictures of music books, so I chose books since they’re my obsession right now.
  12. What do you want to be when you grow up? Happy
