6 Quirky Things About Me

I was tagged by my sister-in-law Jen on her blog since she tagged everyone she knows. But, as you all know, I love tags. Jen actually tagged me twice, but the second tag is for another day.

  1. I like to make up words that could be real, such as amn’t (which I found out is a real word in Scotland and Ireland).
  2. I don’t like to be shushed because I think it’s very degrading and passive aggressive; I’d rather be asked to speak in a softer voice.
  3. I have a foot fetish, but only with my own feet.
  4. If I had the choice to sit and chat with the women or play sports/games with the men at a party, I’d rather play sports/games, even if I’m not very good.
  5. I usually lead an invisible orchestra whenever I listen to a movie score.
  6. I’ve always wanted to see a tornado or be in a minor earthquake.

A New Hobby

Last year, my niece Megan took up a new hobby.  It’s called amigurumi, which means crocheted doll in Japanese.  Since I know how to crochet, I decided I wanted to learn how to do amigurumi.  I decided to do an amineko, or crocheted cat, for my first project since the pattern is free, online, and I love cats.  It seemed like a good starting place.

I started my amigurumi on Sunday and finished him last night.  I’ve decided to name him Smokie since he’s gray and white and reminds me of a cat I had when I was a little girl.

I ordered an amigurumi pattern book from Amazon.  I’m really excited to make other things now.  I can’t wait to give away some of the animals/dolls I make to all the little kids in my life.
