Husband Tag

I found this tag on Kayla’s blog.  She didn’t tag me, but I wanted to do it anyway because I love tags. Here’s my take on Corey!

  1. What is his name? Gwyllum Corey Blaser; he’s named after his father and grandfather.
  2. Who eats more? I hate to admit it, but I do.
  3. Who said “I love you” first? You should ask Corey this story some time.  It’s quite funny for him and embarrassing for me.
  4. Who is taller? Corey as he’s 6’1″ and I’m only 5’4.5″.
  5. Who is smarter? If you ask him, he’d say that he is.  But, I think I am.
  6. Who is more sensitive? Definitely, me!
  7. Who does the laundry? That would be me again.
  8. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do.
  9. Who pays the bills? He does.
  10. Who cooks more? McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Taco Time
  11. Who is more stubborn? I think it’s a toss up.
  12. Who is the first to admit when they’re wrong? We both hate admitting we’re wrong, but we’ll do it when we have to.
  13. Who has more siblings? I do.  I have five sisters and one brother, whereas he only has one of each.
  14. Who wears the pants in the family? Definitely, Corey!  I’m too much of a pushover and pleaser.
  15. What do you like to do together? We like to watch TV, go to movies, hang out with our friends, play games with our friends, and play Mario Kart together.
  16. Who eats more sweets? Have you met Corey? Okay … we probably both eat a lot of junk food, but Corey eats a whole heck of a lot more chocolate than I do.
  17. Guilty pleasures? Chocolate as long as it’s not Hershey’s; he’s what you’d call a chocolate snob.
  18. How did you meet? We met in the library of our single’s ward.  He would rather me not go into the details on my blog, so ask me some time if you want to know the whole story; it’s quite good.
  19. Who proposed? We knew we were going to get married, but we weren’t officially engaged until a month before our wedding.  But, he proposed on the Logan LDS Temple grounds because that’s where we wanted to get married and I had always wanted to be proposed to on the temple grounds.
  20. What is his best feature? I like his smile and his eyes.
  21. What is his best quality? He’s really smart, almost too smart for his own good.  He’s also a hard worker and very ambitious.

Spoiler Alert: Favorite Twilight Moments

What/who made you laugh the most?

It’s a toss up between Emmett and Jacob.  I love how Emmett always laughs at Bella because of her “humanness” and also the wise cracks he started making in Breaking Dawn about Bella and Edward’s relationship.  I also love Jacob’s jabs at Rosalie in Breaking Dawn and the titles of his chapters.

What made you cry the most?

There are two things.  The first is in New Moon.  I cried for Bella when Edward left.  There was no way I couldn’t cry with the way Stephenie Meyer describes Bella’s pain.  The second is in Breaking Dawn.  When Bella and Edward say good-bye to Renesmee and Jacob during the conflict with the Volturi.

What/who made you the proudest?

This is a hard one, but I’d have to say that Jacob made me the proudest.  He grew so much in Breaking Dawn.  I felt like we started to see more of the “before” Jacob again and that’s the Jacob I love the most.

What made you the happiest?

I’m with Stephenie Meyer on this one.  My favorite moment of the entire series are the last two pages in Breaking Dawn.  I loved that Bella was finally able to show Edward her mind, so he could see how much she loved him.

What was the biggest shocker?

Most people aren’t going to believe me when I say that it wasn’t Renesmee or Jacob imprinting on Renesmee, but it was Edward leaving in New Moon.  At that time, I had barely finished Twilight and I was expecting more of Twilight when I started to read New Moon.  And then, three chapters into it … bam!  He’s gone!  I didn’t know what to expect.  After I had read New Moon and Eclipse, I was ready for anything in Breaking Dawn and I was almost praying for Renesmee (well a baby not necessarily Renesmee herself).

What is your favorite quote?

Both of my favorite quotes come from New Moon, which is a shock because it’s the hardest book in the series for me to read.  Edward says:

“Before you, Bella, my life was like a moonless night.  Very dark, but there were stars–points of light and reason. … And then you shot across my sky like a meteor.  Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty.  When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black.  Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light.  I couldn’t see the stars anymore.  And there was no more reason for anything.”

Bella thinks:

Time passes.  Even when it seems impossible.  Even when each tick of the second hand aches like the pulse of blood behind a bruise.  It passes unevenly, in strange lurches and dragging dulls, but pass it does.  Even for me.

Internet Terrorism

I’m quite upset at the moment.  As most of you know, I frequent the Twilight Lexicon multiple times a day.  It’s a place I can go to talk about my obsession with the Twilight Saga.  I’m upset because a few people who didn’t agree with the Lexicon’s policies or with the Twilight Saga decided to spam the boards with horrible anti-Lexicon, -Stephenie Meyer, and -Breaking Dawn sentiments.  And, because the admins (who happen to be friends of mine) were having to deal with the spam, they didn’t know the Lexicon was being hacked! Now, the Lex has been shut down while they try to restore a backup.

I’m all for people having their own opinions.  If you don’t like the world Stephenie Meyer has created, or you don’t think she’s a very good author, or you don’t agree with the Lexicon’s policies, fine!  That’s your opinion!  Go post your opinion on an anti-Twilight or anti-Lexicon site.  But, why on earth would you be so immature and inconsiderate to destroy someone’s hard work?  Anyone who does this is no better than a terrorist.  You may not be killing people with suicide bombs, but you’re still hurting people!

Mononucleosis

For the past three days, I haven’t gone to work because I’ve had a terrible sore throat.  My left tonsil is extremely swollen.  I’ve had an overall crummy feeling with lots of body aches and pains accompanying it.  Today I went to the doctor just to make sure I didn’t have strep.  The good news is I don’t have strep.  The bad news is I probably have mono. I won’t know for sure until some time next week when my blood test comes back.

In the mean time, I’ve been doing some research on mono to find out exactly what I have to look forward to.  My sore throat should go away fairly soon, so I can go back to work, but I’m probably going to feel fatigued for at least a few weeks and possibly even a couple of months. I also have to avoid any strenuous activities until I feel like myself again so I don’t rupture my spleen. I guess I’ll get a lot of reading done.

PS–Contrary to popular belief, mono isn’t very contagious.  You have to kiss a person with mono or share their cup or silverware to contract it from them.  Don’t avoid me during my time of sickness, please!
