A Twilight Update

I have a couple of things to post about.  First, I’m back from my trip to Forks. I have bittersweet feelings as I’m glad to be with Corey and the kitties again, but I would’ve rather had Corey and the kitties join me in Forks instead of me leaving.  Forks was so awesome!  I have lots of pictures and fun stuff to tell you, but I’m waiting until I gather all the pictures from my cohorts before I post about the trip!  Hopefully, it’ll only be a couple of days.

Second, only 4.5 days until Breaking Dawn is released! I’m so excited I can hardly contain it, especially after reading a spoiler from Stephenie Meyer!  (Proceed with caution.)  I started rereading Twilight on the plane yesterday and I’m hoping to get through it as well as New Moon and Eclipse by Friday, so that I’ll be ready for Saturday’s midnight release!  Wish me luck.

PS–As I reread Twilight, it’s so exciting because I know all the places Bella mentions!

Forks, Here I Come!

In the words of John Denver:

All my bags are packed
I’m ready to go …
… I’m leavin’ on a jet plane.

I almost wasn’t able to go on this trip, even though I’ve been planning to go for almost a year. But, luckily, a miracle happened and I’m able to go.

I know that Forks, WA would’ve still been there another time, but this trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity because I’m going with so many of my friends and I’ll be meeting more friends when I’m there. All of us share the same passion for Stephenie Meyer’s wonderful world of vampires and we’re so excited to experience Forks together. I’m glad everything worked out so I could go and be a part of this experience!  (I know Corey’s glad too because he doesn’t have to go with me now.)

I leave early tomorrow morning and I won’t be back until late Sunday night.  I’ll take lots of pictures, so I can share my adventures with everyone when I get back.  Until then … adieu!

More Family Fun

This summer seems to be the summer of family fun.  First, my sister LeAnn came to visit from Texas.  Now, my older sister Becky and her family are visiting from Tennessee.  And, in a couple of weeks, my niece Kati will be here from California! It’s been a lot of fun seeing everyone.

Yesterday, we had a get-together at my parents’ house.  We had yummy food, enjoyed each other’s company, and played croquet.  I came in fourth and mom won yet again! (It seems like my mom always wins any game we play with her.)

While everyone was together, I showed my sisters my blog because they hadn’t really looked at it before.  Cindy asked why there was writing on my blog. I was kind of speechless.  I said, “Um … because it’s a blog.  That’s what you do.  You blog.”

My brother-in-law Brett thought it was weird that I blogged about the things I blogged about, like my new do for instance.  I told him people blog about all kinds of things because they’re basically electronic journals. Some of my family is kind of electronically/technologically challenged.

I tried to get a picture of me with my great-niece Kilee, but she was kind of grumpy.  I had to sneak around to get pictures of her and they didn’t turn out so well.  Finally, she let me take a picture of her on her own, but she wasn’t too excited about it. My older sister Shari also hates to have her picture taken, but I got one anyway.

Jazlyn Raenon Ann Ernsberger

Brittni and Sheldon, my niece and her boyfriend, had their second baby.  Jazlyn Raenon Ann Ernsberger was born Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 11:29 am. She weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz. and was 19.5 in. long.  Brittni and Jazlyn are doing well.

Tyra, Jazlyn’s older sister, isn’t sure what to think yet.  Being a four-year-old, I guess it’s hard to give up some of her attention to the baby. I’m sure she’ll come to love Jazlyn in time.

Congratulations, Brittni and Sheldon!

Memories

My friend Cami had this on her blog and I thought it was a fun idea.

Here’s how you do it:

  1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot; anything you can remember!
  2. Next, repost these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I’ll assume you’re playing the game and I’ll come to your blog and leave a memory about you. If you don’t want to play on your blog or if you don’t have a blog, I’ll leave my memory of you in my comments.
