Seven Peaks Water Park

Seven Peaks Water Park Map

I wanted to do one last thing with my nephews Dustin and Wyatt before they went back home and left to spend the rest of the week with my parents. I left work early yesterday and my parents and I took them to Seven Peaks Water Park. We got there about 2:00 pm and stayed until about 7:30 pm. We had a lot of fun!

I must say that going to a water park for yourself compared to going with kids you’re responsible for is a lot different. Instead of doing the things you want to do, you get to do the things the kids want to do. (And, sometimes you try to talk the kids into doing something you want to do and realize it may not have been the best thing. :? ) My parents were always really good at doing the things my siblings and I wanted to do, so I did my best with Dustin and Wyatt. Overall, I think they had a good time. ;)

The first thing everyone wanted to do was go in the Lazy River. I love the Lazy River because you can have fun and relax at the same time. The only problem with the Lazy River is that it’s usually chalked full of people and tubes. :?

After that, the kids and I went into the Wave pool while my mom and dad stayed in the Lazy River. This time around the waves didn’t seem very big and they only lasted five minutes. :? Once the people emptied a bit later on in the day, the waves lasted for about 10 minutes. I’m not sure if there is rule that dictates a smaller time limit when there’s more people in the pool. I guess that sounds logical, but I think they still could’ve given us better-sized waves.

Wyatt and I went on the Tube Run next. (Dustin didn’t go because he didn’t want to rent a tube and we didn’t realize the complimentary tubes were at the bottom of the slide instead of the top.) Wyatt was scared at first, but he ended up enjoying the slide a lot. :D

All of us, except my mom, went on the Vortex next. The Vortex looks like a giant toilet bowl. 8O You ride a tube on a waterslide into a large bowl where you go around a few times and then you’re “flushed” out the bottom. That slide was a lot of fun.

Remember the part where I said, “Sometimes you try to talk the kids into doing something you want to do and realize it may not have been the best thing?” The next slide is where this comes into play. Shotgun Falls is the pink slide in the picture above and you ride your tube on it. So, I didn’t think it would be too scary. It ended up being really fast. 8O In fact, only double or triple tubes are allowed on it. Because Dustin and my dad had single tubes, they couldn’t go. (They went down Cave-In instead, which is a slide that you go down in the dark.) I think Wyatt and I should’ve gone on Cave-In as well because Shotgun Falls nearly gave him a heart attack. He was breathing so hard and fast after that slide. He said he liked it, but he wouldn’t go on it again.

After that, my dad took Dustin over to the Boomerang (half-pipe slide) because Dustin really wanted to go and Wyatt didn’t. Dustin enjoyed himself on that one a lot. However, after that, he decided to go hang out with my mom and dad on the blanket while Wyatt and I relaxed in the Adult pool, Lazy River, and Wave pool until we had to go. :D
