A Birthday Surprise

Yesterday, I received a birthday surprise, even though my birthday isn’t until Saturday. Corey decided to give me my present early because he wanted to spend time with me on the actual day. He knew once I got a hold of my gift, I’d want to spend most of my time with it. :lol:

Me and My Mac

Corey gave me a MacBook for my birthday. I’ve been wanting one for a few years now, but we could never really afford one. Corey got a smoking deal on this one ($800 discount). The computer was purchased by someone else, they opened the box, and never took the computer out before they sent it back to Apple. So, because it was opened, Apple couldn’t sell it at full price. :D Even with the awesome deal, this is my Christmas, anniversary, and birthday present for the next five years. ;)

The neat thing about Macs is that all of them come with a built-in camera. I decided to have some fun with Photo Booth and take some pictures of me using some of the nifty effects. :D

Twilight Movie Clips

A couple of behind-the-scenes-movie-clips for Twilight have been released, one by ETOnline and the other by MTV. They’re really exciting because you can start to see the actors as the characters. I’m anticipating the movie even more now and it’s not being released until December 12!

More SLTA Fun

Yesterday, I had the chance to get together with some of my friends. There were a couple of girls who had recently joined our group and some of us had never had a chance to meet. We had lunch at Cobblestone Pizzeria. Our lunch lasted for more than two hours. :D Not only did we have good food, but we also had fun chatting and getting to know the new girls.

I also had a chance to show everyone my many different shades of blushing because I started a fountain soda dispenser and couldn’t get it to stop. :oops: Luckily, Kimberly rushed to my side just as I figured out the water lever had dropped and just needed to be lifted. :roll:

We’re all super excited for the release of the The Host on May 6. And, we’re especially excited for our chance to meet Stephenie Meyer on May 16 and May 17. We’re all going to wear one of our SLTA shirts to the signings. :D I think it’s going to be so much fun.

Sierra Blaser

Corey just told me, nearly four weeks after the fact :roll: , Bret and Jamie, my brother- and sister-in-law, had their second baby. Sierra Blaser was born Tuesday, March 18, 2008. She weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. and was 21 in. long.

Congratulations, Bret and Jamie! :D

A New Apostle

Elder D. Todd Christofferson I’ve been looking forward to General Conference all week. One, I wanted to sustain President Monson as the new prophet. Two, I wanted to hear the words of wisdom from the leaders of the Church. And, three, I was excited to find out who the new apostle is.

Elder D. Todd Christofferson was sustained as the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles this morning. I don’t know a lot about him, but I’m excited to get to know him through his talks in Conference.

I was so excited to stand and sustain President Monson this morning. I still miss President Hinckley very much, but I know he’s in a better place and where he’s supposed to be. Knowing that President Monson is our new prophet helps ease the sense of loss I’ve felt with President Hinckley’s death.

I enjoyed all the talks today. Some of them spoke to me more than others, one in particular. I just love feeling the Spirit as I listen to each of these leaders. Whenever I listen to the leaders of the Church speak, I know Heavenly Father loves me, I know the leaders are called of God, and I know they speak the truth. It’s such a wonderful feeling to know these things!
