I’ve been looking forward to General Conference all week. One, I wanted to sustain President Monson as the new prophet. Two, I wanted to hear the words of wisdom from the leaders of the Church. And, three, I was excited to find out who the new apostle is.

Elder D. Todd Christofferson was sustained as the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles this morning. I don’t know a lot about him, but I’m excited to get to know him through his talks in Conference.

I was so excited to stand and sustain President Monson this morning. I still miss President Hinckley very much, but I know he’s in a better place and where he’s supposed to be. Knowing that President Monson is our new prophet helps ease the sense of loss I’ve felt with President Hinckley’s death.

I enjoyed all the talks today. Some of them spoke to me more than others, one in particular. I just love feeling the Spirit as I listen to each of these leaders. Whenever I listen to the leaders of the Church speak, I know Heavenly Father loves me, I know the leaders are called of God, and I know they speak the truth. It’s such a wonderful feeling to know these things!
