Tagged: Christmas Style

It’s a good thing I keep getting tagged by my friend Ashley. Otherwise, I’d probably run out of things to post on my blog. Hopefully, the people I tag, will actually come through with this one!

  1. Wrapping paper or gift bag? I like wrapping paper because it’s much more fun to open. However, gift bags are much easier to do.
  2. Real tree or artificial? Right now, no tree. My cats aren’t tree-friendly. If I had a tree, however, I’d get a real one because I love the way they smell and no artificial tree smells come close.
  3. When do you put up your tree? If I had a tree, I’d put it up on Black Friday or Saturday.
  4. When do you take down your tree? What’s with all the tree questions? If I had a tree, I’d wait until the weekend after New Year’s to take it down.
  5. Do you like egg nog? Heck yeah! I even make my own sometimes.
  6. Favorite gift received as a child? There were a few, my Nintendos (regular and super) and my green leather suede jacket.
  7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, Corey and I have a couple, but we don’t put them up every year. Nativities are my favorite Christmas decoration because they point to Christ in every way.
  8. Hardest person to buy for? Corey because he hates Christmas, he doesn’t really “want” anything, and all the things he “needs” are way expensive.
  9. Easiest person to buy for? My mom because you can give her some kind of santa or something country. Or, my dad because you can give him a gift certificate to Deseret Book so he can buy the latest book by one of the General Authorities.
  10. Worst Christmas gift you’ve ever received? I don’t remember. I think I’ve always received pretty good gifts.
  11. U.S. Mail or e-mail Christmas cards? Um … I don’t send out Christmas cards. I’m just not that type of person. It’s not because I don’t care; I just don’t do it.
  12. Favorite Christmas movie? I don’t really like Christmas movies very much, but I guess I’d have to say Mixed Nuts because it’s hilarious!
  13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I don’t have kids and Corey and I don’t really celebrate Christmas, so I don’t really “start” shopping. If we can afford to get our parents a present that year, then we usually buy their gift some time in December.
  14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? I can’t remember.
  15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Egg nog and candy are my favorite Christmas foods.
  16. White or colored lights? For the most part, I like white lights, but I do have some colored lights.
  17. Favorite Christmas songs? “Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabella,” “Greensleeves,” “O Holy Night,” “Carol of the Bells,” and “Somewhere in my Memory.”
  18. Travel for Christmas or stay home? Last year, Corey and I started to stay home for Christmas. We used to alternate between parents each year.
  19. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and that famous red-nosed one. What’s his name again?
  20. Angel or star on top of tree? I like to put a star on top of the tree because, to me, it symbolizes Christ more than an angel does and I can’t find angel ornaments without wings.
  21. Open presents Christmas Eve or morning? When I was a child, we opened presents on Christmas morning because my sister’s birthday is Christmas Eve. My parents didn’t want her birthday overshadowed by Christmas anymore than it already was. Now, that I’m older, we just wait until Christmas morning out of habit.
  22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? The over-commercialization of Christmas.
  23. What I love most about Christmas? Other than the celebration of Christ, my favorite thing about Christmas is spending time with my family as well as the time off from work.

The six people I choose to tag are Ali, Amy, Anna, Becky, Jen, and Megan.
