Reading is Fun

Reading is FunBecause of my preoccupation with reading lately, I thought I’d post something about the books I’ve read this year, my favorite authors, and books I want to read.

I’ve already read quite a few books this year, probably more than I’ve ever read in an entire year. Here’s a list of the books I’ve read this year: (This list was in the post Tagged by the Vigues’s House of Happiness too.)

January 2007

As of my current reading experience, my favorite authors are: Stephenie Meyer and JK Rowling. I enjoy reading fantasy, romance, and mystery novels.

My co-workers (Erin and Becky) and I have started a book club of sorts. Our first book, which we read in August, was Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer. We knew we were all going to read it since the book came out on August 7, so it was a good first book. The next book we’re going to read is The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman.  We want to be ready for the movie when it comes out in November.

I decided to make a list of all the books I want to read because there are so many that I need help remembering them. My list is quite long since I didn’t really enjoy reading until after I read the first four books in the Harry Potter series nearly six years ago. (Of course, I need to balance the books on my list with re-reading my favorite books as well. What can I say? I need my Edward fix every now and then!)

There are more than 200 books on my list. I’ll be reading for a long time, but I’m excited to get started. What better to do with my time than read, right?

Cloe

Cloecatra Sebastiana Neferkitti Cloecatra Sebastiana Neferkitti

I spent this weekend at my parents’ because Corey and I decided to give Cloe to them. Cloe will do better in an environment with just one cat. She doesn’t like sharing the attention with the other cats and she doesn’t like sharing the food with them either. She’s also bulimic, so her food needs to be monitored better and more regularly, which we can’t do with three other cats.

All weekend, she seemed very happy. She relished being the only one getting the attention. A few times, she did look for Dax, one of our other kitties, but she should get used to not having her around. Hopefully, in the mean time, she doesn’t drive my parents bonkers with her yowling while looking for Dax.

When Corey and I left today, I cried. Even though I know Cloe will do better with my parents and I know she has a good home, I’ll still miss her. We had her for seven years and I feel like I’m giving up a child. I guess I’ll get used to not having her around all the time too.
