1000th Post + Giveaway

Guess what? This is the 1000th post on my blog! Can you believe it? I can’t! I remember thinking that I’d never reach this number. It’s kind of surreal (and exciting) that I have!

The last 1000 posts have been a whirlwind of fun! While I don’t think every post I’ve posted has been quality, I’ve tried my best to do quality over quantity. I think that’s why it’s taken me a little over four years to reach this number.

To celebrate, I’m doing a giveaway to say thank you to all those who read my blog and have helped make this achievement possible. Even though I blog for myself, I wouldn’t have continued to blog without my readers’ encouragement. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading and commenting!

What am I giving away? Take a look!

That’s right! One lucky person will win a copy of both Matched and Crossed by Ally Condie. But, that’s not all! Both books are signed by Ally.

Congrats on 1000 posts! You crazy blogger, you! Ok, I have read Matched. I loved Condie’s writing. Honestly I was so sad at the end of the book — not a very happy ending. And I haven’t read Crossed yet!

I have not read either book, but taking a cue from your enthusiasm about them, I would love to see what all the fuss is about! Congratulations on your 1,000th post; if you were a tv series, you could go into syndication :D

  12. Jasmine Rose says:

I read Matched and I really enjoyed it. I’ve heard from a lot of people that they really didn’t like it and I simply don’t understand. I thought it was a fantastic dystopian. I haven’t gotten the chance to read Crossed yet, but I’m DYING to. Thanks for the great giveaway :D

  13. ems says:

I’ve read Matched and loved it, and am currently reading Crossed. Seriously amazing books. I thought Cassia was the perfect heroine. Lots of people have said she only started resisting because of a guy, but I think she’d have gotten to that point on her own eventually. She’s a lot stronger than people give her credit for. She’s showing that more and more in Crossed.

This is one of my very most favorite series EVER, and I adore Ally Condie’s style!

    • Jenni Elyse says:

Great insight into Cassia’s character. I agree with you completely. I think she’s a lot stronger than people give her credit for too. She would’ve realized something was off at some point and sought out a way to change it.

  14. Anna says:

Way to go on getting to 1,000 posts!! That’s so amazing!! Hope to see you get to 2,000 :)

I’ve read Matched, I borrowed it, and I LOVED it! It started off a little slow, but I really enjoyed the slower pace Condie used to describe emotions. Ky is my favorite!

  42. Kylie says:

Congratulations!!! That is just awesome news!

  43. I’ve read both and I really loved them both – for different reasons. The first was just so interesting to watch Cassia discover things about her society that were off. The second made me want to go camping (oh, and I adore the writing). Great books, great author, great contest :)

    • Jenni Elyse says:

Ha! I can see what you mean about Crossed making you want to go camping. I’m actually not much of a camping person, but I do love the descriptions of the setting in that book.

  44. erin says:

I have read Matched and LOVED it! I really want to read Crossed but my husband has put me on a book buying ban for a while!

  45. Sara H. says:

I recently read Matched, it had been sitting on my shelf for a while but I loved it! I am a huge fan of dystopian books and YA books in general and this book tops my 2011 list of both! The kind of poetic writing style really struck a chord with me. I was really able to connect with Cassia’s character, and even Ky’s, which is something that always makes a book more personally enjoyable. Loved every bit of it!

  46. Congrats on so many posts!
I have not read either book, much to my chagrin. I work in a high school media center and they are always checked out. I hear great things!!!
I have them both on my TBR mountain, but haven’t had the chance. I would love to win! I have a special book shelf for my signed books and they would be a wonderful addition!

  47. Huzzah for 1,000 posts! Keep ‘em coming Jenni!

  48. Marisol Gaddi says:

I’ve never read Crossed & Matched. I would really love to though because it’s dystopian and luuuurve dystopian novels :D

  49. Ali says:

Loved Matched when I read it, have not read Crossed. Want to (although I’m nervous to, since so many “middle books” feel like that’s what they are–not like stand-alones that you can just enjoy and put aside until the next one comes out!).

    • Jenni Elyse says:

Yeah, I understand what you mean. Some of my friends who’ve read it said that it’s a typical second book. I’m not sure quite yet since I haven’t finished it, lol.

  50. Karen O says:

    Congrats on your 1000th blog…that is crazy….
